How To Make Your Eyes Look Bigger

How To Make Your Eyes Look Bigger

For years I have been searching for ways to make my eyes look bigger. I spent the longest part of my makeup wearing life doing all the wrong things, which ended up making my eyes look a lot smaller than they were. Here are a few tips on how to make your eyes look bigger.

Step 1 – Conceal

If you have dark circles/dark under eyes it’s always best to apply a concealer to cancel out the darkness. The darkness around the eye creates the illusion that your eyes are sunken in, so by brightening them up, you’re making your eyes look highlighted and brighter. Make sure to set your concealer with a powder to prevent creasing.

I use LA Girl Pro Conceal in the shade Porcelain and Collection Primed and Ready Invisible Setting powder.

Step 2 – Eyeliner

Thinly line your upper lash line using a liquid liner. You want your liner to be thin otherwise it can make your eyes look smaller and more defined. The thin liner will create the illusion that your eyelashes are thicker.

I use Soap And Glory Supercat Liquid Liner Pen.

Step 3 – Lightly Define Your Eyes *Optional*

If you would like some extra definition without making your eyes look too dark, take an eyeshadow a few shades darker than your skin tone and very lightly run the colour through your lower lash line. This will make your eyes look more defined but won’t be as harsh as using a dark brown or black shadow.

I use Makeup Obsession Eyeshadow in Taupe.

Step 4 – Line The Waterline

This step alone is enough to transform your eyes. Using a light nude eyeliner on the waterline creates the illusion that your eyeball is bigger than it is. You can also use a white eyeliner pencil but it can look very harsh.

I use NYX Wonder Pencil in the shade Light.

Step 5 – Curl Those Lashes

Curling your eyelashes really opens up your eyes as well as making your lashes look longer. Curl your lashes at the base of the lash for extra lift and curl again in the middle of the lash for and extra curl.

Step 6 – Mascara

Use a mascara that is targeted at lengthening and separating your lashes. To make sure all of your lashes get a good coating of mascara, place the wand at the base of your lashes and slowly wiggle from side to side for a few seconds before using the same motion to coat the entire length of the lash.

I use Lancôme Hypnôse Mascara.

Step – 7 Highlighting *Optional*

Take a flat eyeshadow brush with a little of your favourite highlighter and highlight the inner corners of your eyes and your brow bone. This makes your eyes look brighter and more lifted.

I use Makeup Obsession Highlight in Pearl.

I hope you’ve found my tips on how to make your eyes look bigger helpful.

Makeup Obsession Palette Review

Makeup Obsession Palette Review

I love buying makeup palettes but I don’t always use all the shades. The makeup obsession palettes are great for people who want to build a custom palette of eyeshadow, contour, blush, highlight, eyebrow and lip colours.

I was completely spoilt for choice with all the colours they have to choose from but I’m more of a “natural look” kind of girl so I decided to create my perfect natural look palette.

Medium Empty Palette £4 – Fits 6 singles

Large Empty Palette £8- Fits 12 singles

Each single costs £2 – £3 for 2g

I chose the medium pink palette which looks like a darkish pink colour online, when it arrived however it is a very bright hot pink colour. The palette its self is a sturdy plastic and has a large mirror inside.

I filled my palette with 1 highlighter, 1 blush, 1 contour and 3 eyeshadows.

Highlight – H105 Bare

As the theme for my pallet is natural I wanted a natural glowing from within highlighter. I love the silky texture of this highlighter, it blends into skin beautifully leaving a very subtle glow.

Blush – B106 Fancy

This blush arrived looking nothing like it does on the website. I ordered a light dusty pink colour and it arrived looking very peachy toned. Although it’s very pigmented and easy to blend the colour, unfortunately, doesn’t suit my skin tone so I don’t think I’ll be getting much use out of it.

Contour – C102 Light

This is the perfect contour shade for me. I really truly love it, it’s super easy to blend and doesn’t look orange or muddy. The pigmentation is good but not so intense that it’s hard to get a nice application.

Eyeshadow – Bone, Daze and Taupe

Still keeping to the natural theme I stuck to matte light brown tones for that no makeup make up look

Bone – As a lid colour as it’s not far from my own skin tone.

Daze – As a transition shade.

Taupe – To darken the crease.

All the shadows are very bendable but not overly pigmented with one swipe however they are easily buildable.

Overall I’m impressed with this palette. I love that you can choose what you want your palette to be filled with, the colour selection is pretty good so you’ll likely find a shade that suits your skin tone. Each single comes inside its own case so you can swap around products as and when you want to.

Masquebar Peel Off Modeling Mask Review.

Masquebar Peel Off Modeling Mask Review.

I love face masks, I always make time to do one at least 3 times a week depending on my skin’s needs. When I came across these masks I just had to give one a try! There were 4 different masks in the Masquebar Peel Off Modeling Mask range to choose from, all priced at £4.95.

Lavender For soothing and vitality

Charcoal – For cleansing and removing excess oil

Tea Tree – For soothing and pore care

Collagen – For moisturising and elasticity

I chose the tea tree one as I have a few pimples that I need some help with.

The mask comes as a powder that you have to add 7 spoonfuls of water to using the blue spoon provided. It takes some time to mix the product into a paste as it’s on the thick side.

Once I had mixed the mask into a thick paste making sure all the lumps were gone I spread a thick layer onto my face using a flat brush. I found that the paste dries quite fast so you have to work quickly.

There was enough product for me to spread it down my neck so this kit can easily be shared between two people if you’re planning on having a pamper night.

After around 10 minutes the mask was fully dry and ready to peel off. There was no tugging on my skin or peach fuzz so removal was painless. Surprisingly after I peeled off the mask my skin was slightly damp as if I had just applied a serum, which was a nice change as most peel off masks leave me feeling dry.

My skin looked a lot brighter and continued to look amazing the next day. I would defiantly buy this mask again, it worked well, was pretty fun and very different to other peel off masks.

Have you tried the Masquebar Peel Off Modeling Mask? What did you think?

Feel Unique Pick ‘n’ Mix March 2018

Feel Unique Pick ‘n’ Mix March 2018

Its that time of the month again! Feel Unique have a pick ‘n’ mix sample service where you can pick 5 samples per month to try out. This service is £3.95 a month and the £3.95 is refunded back to your Feel Unique account so you can spend it on any future hauls. I love this service as I can personally pick out samples that I want to try, with 100s of samples to choose from and plenty being deluxe size it’s hard to say no!

Elizabeth Arden Standing Ovation Mascara – Intense Black

This mascara is wetter than the ones I’m used too, it is very lightweight and natural looking. I do prefer a thicker more dramatic lashes so I won’t get too much use from this sample. However, I would use it if I was looking for a more natural look.

Sample Size – 2.5ml

Sample Worth – £6.46

Rating – ☆☆☆

Clarins SOS Primer – 00 Universal Light

I love an illuminating primer but I find most of them very intense and glittery, this one, however, is very subtle and gives a “glowing from within” look. This primer is silicone based so it gives that “smoothing” effect but it’s not at all greasy feeling like some primers. I noticed my skin looking smoother during use but I wouldn’t say it prolonged the wear time of my makeup.

Sample Size – 5ml

Sample Worth – £4.42

Rating – ☆☆☆☆

Nude By Nature Loose Finishing Powder – Translucent

I am totally in love with this powder! I have a tough time buying powders that are light enough for my skin tone but this one is perfect. It gives some extra coverage and leaves skin silky, soft and matte. I would totally buy this product in the full size.

Sample Size – 2g

Sample Worth – £4.40

Rating – ☆☆☆☆☆

REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

I’m on the edge with this one, it worked great left my skin soft and glowing, however, I have used other brands that are much cheaper and work the same. I wasn’t particularly wowed by the product and I will likely not buy the full size

Sample Size – 3ml

Sample Worth – £2.16

Rating – ☆☆☆

Figs And Rouge Hydra-Activ Smart Nutrient Day Cream

The formula is thick but doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy, with the recent cold snap my skin is a lot dryer than usual and this cream has definitely helped soothe my dry skin resulting in my makeup applying much easier.

Sample Size – 20ml

Sample Worth – £11.20

Rating – ☆☆☆☆

Primark Haul March 2018

Red Polka Dot Wrap Dress £13

This dress definitely caught my eye as soon as I walked in, I love the colour and style of the dress, it reminds me of a Spanish flamenco dress. I love the way this dress flatters me however the material is very thin.

Grey Pinafore Dress £13

When I tried this dress on, straight away I was getting 90s vibes, the print reminds me of Cher from Clueless. It’s super comfortable and cute, I paired mine with a plain white long sleeve top, but it would look equally as good with any coloured top underneath.

White Graphic Tee £2.50

I seriously love Primark graphic tees, they have so many to choose from and at only £2.50 its hard not to buy them all! I like how easily these graphic tees are to wear, you can dress them up or down with ease.

Plain Black Shoe Liners £1.80

A Pretty boring purchase, to be honest, I always buy my socks from Primark the quality and prices are amazing.

Primark Tweezer Set £1

As my old tweezers where getting a little blunt, it was time for some new ones, I have never bought Primark tweezers before but these seem like good quality considering how cheap they are. Plus they’re pink!

Primark Eyelash Curler £1

I already have a set that works perfectly fine, however, its always a good idea to keep a spare set around just in case your current ones start to show some wear and tear. Using eyelash curlers that are old is not a good idea, when the rubber part starts to wear out you can risk ripping all your lashes out trust me I know!

Tiger Head Bag £8

This bag! For the longest time, I have been looking for a small bag with several compartments. There’s nothing worse than digging through your bag to find something. Now everything can have its own compartment.

Holla And Glow Face Masks 50p Down From £3

Talk about a bargain! Last time I visited Primark I picked up a couple of Holla And Glow metallic peel off masks and I fell in love. I was delighted to see these guys in the sale section, let’s hope they’re as good as the metallic ones.

Rabbit Pj Set £5 Down From £9

With the current weather in the UK, I have been living in cosy PJs and certainly needed some more! These PJs are super cute and soft plus the colours remind me a lot of spring.

3 Pack Brazilian Knickers £2 Down From £5

I mean I really did not need more pants but I just can’t leave a bargain behind, plus they’re super cute.

I hope you enjoyed my little Primark Haul!

Testing The Superdrug Vitamin C Range

I’m always looking for new skincare as my skin changes so often, right now my skin is looking dull with a few of breakouts. When I saw the new Superdrug Vitamin C range I just had to try it!

The range includes a facial cleanser, gel moisturiser, eye gel, serum and a face mask. All products are formulated with Goji Berry and Kakadu Plum extracts to give an extra boost of Vitamin C in your skincare routine.

Best of all the range is cruelty-free and subtitle for vegans!

Kakadu Plum – has the highest known concentration of Vitamin C of any food in the world.

Goji Berry – a super fruit known to induce calm, energy and wellbeing.

Vitamin C Facial Cleanser £4.99

I applied a 1p sized amount to my fingers before working the product into wet skin using circular motions. The constancy is thick and gel-like with tons orange peel. Although it was definitely exfoliating it is not extremely abrasive so it left my skin soft and glowing without aggravating my pimples and dry spots.

Vitamin C Orange Peel Jam Mask £4.99

I applied a thin layer of the mask using a flat make up brush (which I only use for face masks).

The texture is similar to the facial cleanser but a tad runnier. There was a very slight warming sensation which is normal when using this mask, I left it on for 10 minutes before rinsing.

I splashed my face with warm water and massaged the product into my skin for 30 seconds before rinsing fully. When looking at my skin I noticed I was looking very bright and fresh. I did not experience any dryness or tightness after taking the mask off.

Vitamin C Booster Serum £4.99

I always apply serum first after cleansing, I massaged 4 drops onto my face and let it sink in for around 5 minutes before continuing with my routine. Be careful when using the pipette serums are watery in consistency so its very easy to squirt out more than is needed.

Vitamin C Gel Moisturiser £4.99

Although I have dry skin I’m very prone to get oily in my T zone so lighter gel moisturisers are great for me. My skin instantly felt cooled and hydrated especially when paired with the serum.

Vitamin C Eye Gel £4.99

I love the design of this eye gel, when you unscrew the cap there is a glass roller ball applicator which feels like a mini massage when using under the eyes. The gel is full of caffeine so it left my under eyes looking plumper and bright. After applying the gel I take my ring finger and gently tap the product into my skin until it has fully absorbed.

After a week of using these products I have noticed:

• My skin looks brighter and plumper

• The texture on my cheeks has been reduced

• I haven’t been breaking out as much

• My skin feels softer and hydrated

I have nothing bad to say about any of these products, they have all performed amazingly. My skin has not looked or felt this good for a long time and I will defiantly continue using these products.

Have you tried the Superdrug Vitamin C range? What did you think of it?

LUSH Valentines Day Haul

If there’s one thing I love to spend my money on its LUSH. Although most of their products are great I can’t get enough of their bath bombs!

Rose Bombshell

This bath bomb is perfect for valentines day! It has a comforting rose scent if you’re familiar with LUSH products it smells just like Rose Jam. This bath bomb turns the water a beautiful shade of pink with yellow rose petals floating on top of the water. Although the giant one is very expensive, it is a great gift idea or just a nice treat for yourself!

Big Blue

One of my all-time favourites! Big Blue is not part of the valentines collection so it is available all year round. It smells just like fresh sea air, full of sea salt and seaweed it leaves you feeling truly relaxed and smelling amazing.

Love Boat

Possibly the cutest bath bomb from the LUSH valentines collection. Love Boat Smells just like Pez candy and it turns the bath water a pinky purple colour with tons of shimmer floating around. I love using the shimmery bath bombs before going on a night out as it leaves my skin looking gorgeously glowy.

Ylang Song Bombshell

This bath bomb has a very floral perfumed fragrance, which reminds me a lot of a spa. Don’t be fooled by it’s plain white outside as there’s a very colourful surprised inside.

Tisty Tosty

I was a fan of this bath bomb last year but I love it so much more this year! Last year Tisty Tosty was just plain white with rosebuds, it didn’t colour the water which was a shame because that’s half the fun of using a bath bomb. This year it’s had a makeover! The scent is still the same, I think it smells a lot like baby powder which makes it a really comforting scent, it also turns your bath water a gorgeous pink shade with a few rose buds floating about. LUSH made a good choice with giving Tisty Tosty a little makeover.

What’s your favourite LUSH bath bomb?

Happy Valentine’s day!

Primark Haul February 2018

Who doesn’t love a little Primark haul?! I only went in for a pair of new jeans but I couldn’t help having a little look round, and I’m glad I did!

It’s Cool To Be Nice Jumper £5

Straight away I was drawn to the colour of this jumper, it’s a true bubblegum pink colour that’s going to look great in the spring. I was pretty surprised that the price was only £5 as the quality is really good and the material is quite thick.

Super Highwaisted Jeans £4.50

I have these jeans in 3 other colours as I find the fit really flattering for my body type, my old blue ones were far too big for me now so I was really happy to see that they where currently half price. Come to think of it I should have bought a couple of pairs!

Sorry, I’m Late Tee £2.50

This tee sums me up perfectly! I love that they’re 100% cotton and at only £2.50 its really hard to say no! I really like graphic tees for casual everyday tops and Primark are always bringing out new ones with cool designs or slogans on.

Brooklyn NYC Tee £2.50

I don’t own many white tops as I’m super messy and I always end up ruining them. There was just something about this one that I really liked so I just had to have it. Its a really universal top so you’ll be able to dress it up or down depending on how you want to wear it.

Embroidered Skirt £12.00

Feeling a little out of my comfort zone with this skirt, I tend not to wear anything tight on my lower half as all my weight is on my lower stomach and hips. However, this skirt skims over all my lumps and bumps making me look pretty flat. The only issue I have is that I have a very small waist compared to my hips, so the skirt is quite loose on my waist.

Gold Hoop Earrings £1

First of all, they’re really good quality for £1. I have an outfit planned for an 80s event next week and these earnings will look perfect with it. I also have these in silver and I love them.

Holla And Glow Face Masks £1

A few weeks back I bought the silver Holla And Glow Mask and I loved it so much! I got a great deal with them being £1 down from £3, however, £3 is still a great price as I can get 3-4 uses out of one pot. I usually transfer them into a small sealable pot to keep them fresh and only use enough to lightly cover my face that way I get more uses and spend less money.

What did you buy in your last Primark haul?

The Best Highlighters Under £5

I have a small obsession with highlighters and with most of my collection being drugstore brands and very reasonably priced, I thought I would share my take on the best highlighters under £5.

W7 Glowcomotion

This is one of my favourite everyday highlighters. The formula is soft, creamy and sinks into the skin leaving a subtle golden glow. Also, it’s a great dupe for The Balm MaryLou Manizer.

Price – £3 – £7 for 8.5g (depending on where you buy from)

Shade range – ☆☆ (Only two shades in the glowcomotion range)

Makeup Obsession Highlight – Moon

Not for the faint of heart. It’s hard to be subtle with this highlighter when it shines brighter than my future. I love this one for nights out when I want to look super glowy. As the texture is on the powdery side I find it’s best to use a setting spray after applying. Great dupe for the Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Princess Cut.

Price – £3 for 2g

Shade range – ☆☆☆☆☆

I Heart Makeup Goddess Of Love – Illuminateur

A great pink toned highlighter that is easily buildable to match any look, day or night. The packaging alone is stunning, its one of prettiest looking highlighters I own. I Heart Makeup have a whole range of heart-shaped highlights, blushes and bronzers.

Price – £4.99 for 10g

Freedom Pro Highlight – Diffused

I use this highlighter pretty much every day to create a very natural glow. The formula is velvety to the touch and feels great on the skin, leaving a beautiful pinky glow.

Price – £3 for 7.5g

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter – Golden Scintillation

I almost own the whole collection of the MUA highlighters, Golden Scintillation is my favourite of them all. Finally, a true yellow gold highlighter that looks great on my skin tone! This is my winner for the best highlighters under £5. The pigmentation is amazing, the shade range is very large and best of all it’s only £3!
